God’s Living Word – 1 John 1:1-4, NIV

The Incarnation of the Word of Life

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

4 We write this to make our joy complete.

Food For Thought

John’s letter includes an invitation for all of us to enjoy “fellowship” with the Father and with His son, Jesus Christ. The word fellowship speaks of partnership. It refers to people who share something in common. Our sovereign God, the creator of the universe, invites us to enter into a love relationship and partnership with Him.

The Bible tells us to extend our fellowship to our brothers and sisters in Christ. The Greek word Kiononia expresses this thought that is conveyed in Acts 2:41-47. As believers we rejoice in His Word of Life. “The Leadership Bible".

May the reading of God’s Living Word show you “Incarnation of Life” in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
